ultraviolet clients :: THE BAND MOWTH
The Band Mowth and their talented editorial photographer Madi Petty utilized Ultraviolet Studios to create a dynamic gallery of promotional images for their band’s premier album release. They booked our space with intention: create a Michelangelo-inspired image for their album cover, capture individual iconic portraits to be wrapped on glass jar Jesus candles, and create something unexpected and true to their message.
From the moment they arrived, Mowth’s creative team got right to work. Their vocalist, make up artist Rachel Clark set to creating intricate glitter glue tears while commanding costuming from coordinated jumpsuits to punk mainstays like leather and black tee tops. Within moments, the space was filled with music (Mowth, of course), makeup, hairspray, and an overflowing abundance of gaudy costume jewelry.
Mowth rented the space for a half-day (our most popular booking block). Half-day bookings allow production teams the flexibility to set up, tear down, break for planning and coffee, and to enter the flow needed to usher in creative work.
Mowth used our mobile walls, weathered brick space, and cyclorama wall. At 48′ our cyc was the perfect backdrop to create and capture the content they needed for their cover. The result is a nod to high renaissance and was executed perfectly. We have patiently waited to see and share these images and are happy to share them here on our blog. We were thrilled to host this talent punk band and to witness how and why chose Ultraviolet. Thanks for making and sharing your art, Mowth.
Matthew created this short behind-the-scenes video featuring these creatives at work. The video is tracked by their song, “Right Now”.
